ABOUT
Melinda has many years of experience in a variety of Occupational Therapy roles, both in WA and internationally. She graduated with Distinction and was a member of the Vice Chancellor’s List from Curtin University of Technology with a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) in 1998.
She possesses additional skills, including a Graduate Diploma in Sustainable Tourism with a special interest in Nature Based Tourism for people with disabilities, children’s yoga teaching, and international training as a Romana’s Pilates teacher. Her occupational therapy specialty lies in community-based rehabilitation, encompassing comprehensive assessment and report writing, specialist equipment prescription, moving and handling, and working with individuals and their caregivers to provide individualised services. Melinda has worked with many clients with neurological conditions, including progressive diagnoses. She enjoys working with children in the exciting area of Adventure Bush Therapy, including those with ADHD, autism and anxiety. Recently, she has collaborated with schools to deliver talks on neurodiversity to both staff and children.
Growing up in the south-west of Western Australia, Melinda developed a strong passion for nature and the outdoors. She has travelled extensively, living in Ireland and England for many years before returning to Perth, then resettling back in her hometown of Margaret River with her husband and three children.
Melinda brings a wealth of knowledge and a warm, personable approach to therapy, working with clients to ensure positive outcomes.
